Die Oreaden (altgriechisch α½ˆΟΞ΅ΞΉΞ¬Ξ΄Ξ΅Ο‚ OreiΓ‘des) sind Nymphen der griechischen Mythologie.

Im Unterschied zu den Najaden (Wassernymphen) und Dryaden (Baumnymphen) handelt es sich um Bergnymphen (ὄρος Γ³ros, deutsch β€šBergβ€˜). Sie leben in Bergen, Grotten und WΓ€ldern.

Eine der bekanntesten Oreaden ist Echo. Die Gâttin Hera beraubte sie der Sprache und ließ ihr lediglich die FÀhigkeit, die letzten an sie gerichteten Wârter zu wiederholen.
